It is a monochromatic piece depicting a female sitter with an expressive use of graphite and chalk against a washed background. The piece is unsigned but dated XII (20)12 below the neck of the figure.
I have had the piece float mounted and framed behind glass in a limed wooden frame. The piece is in good condition with minor age-related wear to the frame. The artwork itself has been well protected, clearly having been kept framed. To the bottom left edge is a small surface section of paper pulled slightly away, but this is just the surface and the rest of the piece is completely intact.
Dimensions including frame 68cm height x 58cm wide x 3.5cm deep.
