One of the most rewarding parts of sourcing is discovering pieces with potential and seeing them brought back to their best.

I have always been drawn to well-made objects — pieces that reveal their craftsmanship through their materials, construction and details. Rather than replacing items that have age and character, I enjoy finding ways to preserve what makes them special and give them a new place within a contemporary interior.

Through Hutt Decor, I worked with a network of skilled craftspeople and specialist tradespeople to repair, restore and prepare a wide range of pieces, from furniture and lighting to artwork and decorative objects.

Working with Specialist Craftspeople

Many pieces require specialist knowledge to unlock their full potential. Working closely with skilled craftspeople, I commissioned and managed repairs, upholstery and restoration work to preserve the character and craftsmanship of each item.

Whether it was reupholstering a chair, repairing a cabinet, restoring a table or refreshing a piece of furniture, the aim was always the same: to respect the original design while ensuring the piece could continue to be enjoyed.

The Detail Behind Decorative Lighting

Decorative lighting often presented its own unique challenges. Many older pieces required research and patience to find the right components, from sourcing suitable fittings to working with specialists to bring them up to modern safety standards.

I loved the process of uncovering the solution — finding the right expertise, understanding how a piece was originally made and seeing it restored as a functional object once again.
