20th-Century Modernist Oil Painting

Captivating painting with vivid azures and turquoise greens jumping around in the blocky background and punched by the purple vest of the sitter with bold outlines. I love the engagement with the sitter squarely returning the viewer’s gaze.

The painting has craquelure to the sitter’s trousers and a small amount of loss to the top right corner of the painting which in no way detracts from the piece and is stable.
