20th Century Oil Painting 'Reclining Figures' by Arthur Berridge (1902-1957) British
20th Century Oil Painting 'Reclining Figures' by Arthur Berridge (1902-1957) British
Original Modernist Abstract Oil on Canvas by Arthur Berridge (1902-1957).
The painting depicts figures floating across the composition you can see the impact of Berridge being in contact with artists such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Bernard Leach during the 1950s when this painting dates from.
Circa 1950s
Newly framed in a slim solid oak frame.
The painting is in good condition, however it has surface pencil marks around the edges from a previous framer, these can be removed but I have chosen to leave them untouched as they do not detract from the painting being so close to the edge and personally enjoy seeing traces of the pieces journey so far.
