Norman Adams RA was one of Britain’s most respected post-war painters, known for his expressive landscapes and distinctive use of colour, texture and composition.
After studying at Harrow School of Art and the Royal College of Art, Adams developed a highly individual approach to painting. He was elected a Royal Academician in 1972 and later became Professor of Painting at the Royal Academy Schools.
His work is represented in major public collections including Tate, the Royal Academy of Arts, the Arts Council Collection and the Government Art Collection.
