Hutt Pop-Up at Jigsaw
Art in Everyday Spaces
One of the most rewarding aspects of the project was seeing how people engaged with the collection outside a traditional gallery setting. The informal nature of the space encouraged visitors to discover artwork as part of their everyday shopping experience.
The pop-up was an opportunity to bring Hutt into a physical environment and explore how carefully sourced pieces can add warmth, character and individuality within a contemporary retail space.
In March 2024, Hutt took over a two-month pop-up space within Jigsaw's Bristol store, introducing a collection of 20th-century art and design into a contemporary retail setting.
The collaboration felt like a natural fit. Jigsaw's emphasis on quality and timeless design closely reflected Hutt's approach to sourcing, creating an opportunity to explore how art and objects could sit alongside fashion in an everyday retail environment.
Creating the Display
For the pop-up, I developed the window display and styled the collection throughout the store. As works sold, the displays evolved, with new pieces introduced and arrangements continually refined over the two months.
The collection brought together paintings, ceramics and sculptural objects, with a focus on balance, texture and form. The aim was to create displays that felt cohesive while allowing each piece to have its own presence.
