Antique French Oak Screw Converted to Plinth

The piece was originally a screw that would press grapes for wine that has later been converted to a free-standing column or plinth with the addition of the top.

Solid Oak which is wonderfully worn from years of use, the piece is treated for woodworm.

From Saint-Émilion, Southern France, late 1800s early 1900s
