Raku Fired Glazed Earthenware Ceramic Sculpture

Inger Weichselbaumer was born in Sweden in 1938 her sculptures in both bonze and clay are widely collected.

A hand-sculpted otherworldly creature, with its single peering eye and three talons at the tip of the stretched legs. The carved detailing works well against the crackle glazing with smoked finish from its Raku Firing.

The piece has been repaired on the right leg aside from which there is only a tiny section of wear to the very tip of the beak. Complete with fixings for wall hanging although it works equally well lain down.
